What is the difference between “Horticulture and Agriculture”

Horticulture and agriculture are both terms related to farming, but their focus is different. Agriculture largely grows food crops like grains, pulses, rice, and maize, with the primary purpose of providing food to the nation. Horticulture, a branch of agriculture, cultivates fruits, vegetables, flowers, and ornamental plants, with a greater focus on quality, beauty, and variety. Simply put, agriculture feeds the nation, while horticulture makes it beautiful and nutritious

             Horticulture is nothing but domestication of Plants. Now Horticulture is emerging as a distinct field from agriculture. In the Early days Horticulture was practice for various tools and land management. Different Plants and tools are grown have always depends on the culture and climate.

               Horticulture is a growing of fruits, vegetables different medicinal plants and etc.. Now a days our youth is attracting towards in this fields. Now we are engaging different professionals and technical tools to grow plants. In the horticulture there is many divisions, because we growing variety plants and grown for a variety of purpose.

Agriculture

           Agriculture is nothing but practice of cultivating soil, planting and raising of crops and harvesting for both food, non-food and live stock production and also includes aquaculture. Agriculture was started since around 100000 year ago, due to changing of climate and plants and crops are not able to grow all around the year and became scarcity of food among the humans in the earth.

            Now agriculture is the main source of food production. Although, there is various scientific methods were evolved to generate food production. But, still the majority of Indian Population is depends on cultivation of agriculture in a small piece of land.

In conclusion, it can be said that both Horticulture and agriculture are vital to our lives and economy. Agriculture provides our primary food and employment, while horticulture enriches our food, enhances its range, and makes it commercially profitable. The harmonious development of both creates a balanced and prosperous agricultural system, which contributes to the overall development of the country.
